Patricia McCaw worked for many years in the social work
profession. With increased scribbling of stories and sonnets in secrecy, she
began to learn the trade of writing, giving up her job and in 2006 gaining
a Masters degree in Creative Writing at Edinburgh University, where she won
the Grierson Poetry Prize. Now she teaches Creative Writing to people who
have missed out on education the first time round, and is inspired by their
enthusiasm and creativity.
Amongst many other tasks, Patricia opens and processes
all submissions to Anon, retaining the poets' details sheets in a
mysterious locked box to which only she has the key, and passing on the anonymous
poems to the editor. Once the editor accepts a poem, Patricia passes on the
relevant details sheet too...
